Meet Dr. Schurr
Julie A. Schurr, MD, FACOG has always been passionate about her education. She graduated with her undergraduate degree from Denison University. Dr. Schurr then attained her medical degree at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, later completing her residency in OB/GYN at the University of Wisconsin Hospital & Clinics. She is among the three establishers of the single specialty OB/GYN group, Physicians for Women- Melius, Schurr & Cardwell, located in Madison, WI.
Currently, Dr. Schurr is an OB Hospitalist with Aurora Sinai Medical Center and on-staff at UnityPoint Health-Meriter Hospital. At Aurora, she works in the management of high-acuity and high-risk obstetric populations: labor & delivery, postpartum, and OB triage. Besides, she participates and oversees OB resident education and midwife involvement and collaboration.
Dr. Schurr is a diplomat with the American Board of OB/GYN and a certified practitioner. In 2006, she scooped the ‘Top Doctors’ award and was featured in the cover story of Madison Magazine, and in 2013, Physicians for Women- Melius, Schurr & Cardwell was acknowledged as the Best OB/GYN practice by the local women’s magazine, BRAVA.
In 2017, Dr. Schurr and her founding partners launched a pain-free, effective, non-invasive, in-house procedure utilizing the fractionated CO2 laser system known as FemiLift- the first in Madison. It’s used to address atrophic vaginal changes associated with painful sex, lichen sclerosis, stress urinary incontinence, and menopause.
